This is a multimedia download version of an Audion magazine issue. It is supplied as pdf and plain text files. The audio supplied with this release is all free samples with official license from the artists and/or labels.
This is a revised version of the printed Audion 35. It has been updated and reformatted where required and then screen grabbed from revised doc files. Some colour elements have been preserved from the original files, and some new images have been added. The download also comes with plain text files of the magazine, and selected audio samples (including cover graphics on Bandcamp track pages).

Excepting extracts used for promotional purposes, permission should be sought from the editor to reprint any articles, reviews, graphics, etc. All extracts published (for whatever purpose) should always quote the writer and Audion as the source.

Sorry, not a huge amount of audio with this one, despite a great wealth of reviews (many labels will not share audio samples, and we don't have contact details for a lot of stuff any more), and many people are only giving permission for extracts (or, at least it would be taking quite a liberty to include all the wonderful "The Dead Side Of The Moon" !!!). If you are an artist featured in this issue and would like a sample of your music included, please contact us.
Audion Magazine (established 1986) has a reputation for its different stance on modern music, ever willing to embrace the
unusual, and seek-out those that have helped shape the face of new-music, from rock/folk/jazz to the avant-garde. Audion doesn't adhere to trends or fashion, it exists purely for the love of the music.

Ideal introduction for those liking cosmic sounds, Krautrock, electronic and weird. This disc originally came with the 2007 edition of The Crack In The Cosmic Egg CD-Rom. Audion
Historic collection from the 1980s. This is the roots of where Audion started, with a great snapshot of the eclectic underground international scene at the time. Audion

This, friends, is my only reported “favorite album of 2021.” This album- granted, an anthology- has so many textures. I noted in a 3-track ‘spanse being reminded of Four Tet (albeit beatless), Trepaningritualen (plus harmonica), and Acid Mothers Temple (sans guitar). The Sonologyst is a curatorial genius. Creativity rules this world. cielocanth
